Biography
Oladele Afolabi is a seasoned leader with over three decades of leadership experience. With a proven track record of success, Mr. Afolabi has demonstrated his exceptional leadership skills and strategic vision in guiding organizations towards achieving their goals and objectives.
Mr. Afolabi has led several organizations to success, driving growth, innovation, and sustainable business practices. His collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders have been instrumental in navigating complex business environments and delivering impactful results. He retired as the Director, Portfolio Management Department at the Debt Management Office (DMO) in 2023. He has also worked at First Alliance Pension and Benefits Limited (which eventually merged with ARM Pension Managers) as the pioneer Chief Operating Officer, responsible for setting up the company’s operations and branches. Mr. Afolabi had a successful banking career at Diamond Bank Plc where he worked in Operations as well as Credit and Marketing in various roles such as Operations Manager, Branch Manager and Regional Manager. He also worked as an Auditor with Deloitte, Adetona, lsichei & Co.
Mr. Afolabi currently serves on the Board of Bowen Microfinance Bank Limited as Chairman and Action Aid Nigeria as a Board member. He is also a Board member at Sewa Capital Limited. He undertook the Senior Management Programme at the Lagos Business School and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He holds a first degree in Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University, lle-lfe and a master’s degree in Development Finance from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
